Digital Communications Course
Blog
In Fall 2013, I kept a blog, hotspots, for my Digital Communications class. This blog was meant to explore the growth of digital communications and how people perceive technology. The focus of many of my posts were in response to class readings but also on different events on Furman’s campus, both how they are put together and how they are advertised.
Campus Advertising Slideshow
My main focus for two main projects in this class were campus events and the advertising efforts for those events. The slide show below shows this focus. I picked three different types of events on campus, an off-campus event, a medium scale fundraiser, and a very large scale concert for the student body. The pictures from each event show the main form or forms of advertising used to publicize and several pictures from each event.
Online Branding Podcast
For this group project podcast, we were charged to discuss any topic in the communications realm. As a group we decided to talk about the importance of online branding. Whether through personal branding or business branding, the online world is a great way to create and maintain a brand advertising
Advertising on Furman's Campus Video
In continuation with project focus on campus events, this video describes the types of advertising throughout campus, both traditional and online, and those advertisement techniques from student organizations on campus and how communication can be improved. It also looks at several opinions from members of the Furman community on the advertising through campus.
